MARGAO: St Paul Pedda outclassed hosts United Club Benaulim 4-2 to lift Benaulim inter-ward football cup organized by United Club Benaulim at Ximbumoll ground, Benaulim, Sunday. St Paul led 1-0 at half time.
St Paul surged ahead in the 12th minute when a close range shot by Cleston Fernandes bulged the net.
After resumption, United Club restored parity through Elbino Fernandes but two quick goals in the space of five minutes from Stalin Baptista and Steven Baptista took the fight out of the hosts.
Xamaro Rodrigues added to the tally with a crisp finish. Domingos Sitabai reduced the margin in the dying minutes.
St Paul were awarded Rs 12,000 besides a trophy while United Club had to be content with Rs 8000.
MLA Caitu D’ Silva was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Benaulim Sarpanch Royla Fernandes, Xavier Pereira, Deputy Sarpanch, Brandon Fernandes and Doma Fernandes.

First scorer of the finals: Cleston Fernandes (St Paul). Best goalkeeper of the finals: Salim Bepari (St Paul). Best half of the finals: Elbino Fernandes (United Club Benaulim). Best defender of the finals: Endrio (St Paul). Best striker of the finals: Xamaro Rodrigues (St Paul). Man-of-the-finals: Steven Baptista (St Paul).
Earlier, Rony Diniz, organizing secretary welcomed. Club president Anthony Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
