PANJIM: Portais Sporting Club breezed past Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim 2-1 to finish third with 10 points and failing to qualify in Ilhas Zone GFA’s 2nd Division Under-14 League match played at Don Bosco ground, Panjim, Friday.
At half time, Portais Sporting Club were leading 1-0.
Portais went into the lead in the 10th minute when Rankit Choudhary scored a superb goal off a direct free-kick.
In the second half, Don Bosco Oratory came up with two substitution.
Don Bosco Oratory equalized off a counter attack when Nikhil Correia fed Rohit Pilgaonkar to score a superb one touch placement goal giving no chance to Portais keeper Yatish.
Portais doubled the lead which ultimately proved to be the match winner when a corner taken by Orlando was well connected by Alden D’Souza to clinch the match in Portais favour with just six minutes to go for the final whistle.
Don Bosco Oratory Oratory finished on 9 points.
Portais team was coached by Frankie Mascarenhas, former junior international and Diniz D’Costa was the manager.
