PANJIM: A 16-year-old girl from Taleigao,
kidnapped on December 31, 2015, was rescued from Cuncolim, on Friday. The
girl’s mother had filed an FIR on the day she had been kidnapped.
After a thorough investigation, three
persons Mohan, Biswajeet and Raju were arrested on Friday. According to the
police, the girl was lured by two of the accused on promises of better
employment. The three accused then took her to Ankola, Karnataka as promised. Police
said the girl was then taken to Navelim to work as a maid. On further
interrogation police learnt that the girl was kept at Cuncolim, after which
they rescued her.

Police have recorded the victim’s
statement and that of the three accused. Further investigations are in progress
