What:
Krank
The makers of Krank term it to be a
boutique party experience which combines great Deep, Tech and Progressive
underground music with a beautiful outdoor beach setting. There are a lot of
great artists from across the world on the lineup this year. According to the
organisers, the entire music flow has been curated from start to finish, from
the deeper shades of House Music, to Progressive, to Techno, to Trance. And
each day has its own unique character in terms of music and vibe. There’s
Ritmo, Designer Hippies, Blot!, Boombaba, Arjun Vagale and more. Action begins
post sunset every day.
When: December 27 to 30
Where: Chronicle, Vagator
What: Project Countdown
Project Countdown is Goa’s attempt towards
building a local brand that is expected to grow annually. With Goa’s most
popular face of wicked parties – Mackie – at the helm of affairs, Project
Countdown is touted to be the best NYE party that is in Goa this year. The
organisers have kept the ticket prices low to cater to the masses, without compromising
on the quality of the production and music – a memorable night with your
friends won’t burn a hole in your pocket. There will be pyros, CO2 jets, LED
walls, and a guy being flown down from Bangalore to do the visuals. Project
Countdown has perhaps India’s best House DJ – Anish Sood, headlining the event,
joined by some of Goa’s best DJs – Ryan Nogar, Rinton, Brainwash and Mackie
himself. Again, Project Countdown is no substitute for Sunburn/Supersonic, but,
according to the organisers, for those who aren’t going to Pune for Sunburn,
this is the event that comes closest. A massive gathering is expected. The
party madness begins post sunset and will go on till the wee hours.
When:
December 31
Where: Ceu Mar, Candolim
What: Wonderwall / Satellite
Yes, Nikhil Chinapa is doing Wonderwall and no, it is not a substitute to Supersonic! Chinapa has got together with Submerge, Pearl, Shailesh Shetty from Goa and Oum Pradutt, to put together two boutique festivals – Wonderwall and Satellite. Wonderwall, slated as a daytime event from 2pm to 10pm, has a small capacity of 1200 people and is designed to be intimate – the way hidden parties in Goa used to be in the early ‘90s. Satellite is planned as a night time event and starts just after sunset at Waters Lounge in Vagator, with a capacity of just 800 people.
According to the makers of the event, the big stages and LED screens have gone but the charm that Goa has been famous throughout the world for has been retained. There are some big names on the artiste roster – both Indian and international and a strong representation of local Goan talent. The lineup for both Wonderwall and Satellite includes Roger Sanchez from the US, Yotto from Finland, Jody Wisternoff and Funkagenda from the UK, Norman Doray and Olivier Giacommoto from France and some of the best Indian talent like Pearl, Ash Roy, Arjun Vagale, Browncoat, Tuhin Mehta, BLOT! .. and many more.
When: December 28 to 30
