The sign board says do not throw garbage here or you have to pay fine of Rs. 5,000. But who cares!
I think instead of Margao Municipality Council putting the sign board at the entry point to the city from Davorlim, MMC must keep a garbage bin there or a little in front, to avoid making the place full of garbage and plastic bags.
Also, there is a blatant spelling mistake of the key word in the sign. Obviously all is not ‘fine’ with MMC.
We say ‘cleanliness begins at home,’ but till the time we do not correct the way we think, nothing can be achieved. No progress can be made. The mess starts with one uneducated person and all, even the educated follow. We do not care at all to keep our beautiful Goa clean.
First of all plastic bags should be banned, but our government does not care about it. Only empty promises are made to the people of Goa saying Goa will be garbage free State from this year and that year.
I request Margao MMC to keep the garbage bin here instead of putting the sign board or solve the problem which makes the Margao city entrance dirty.
Keep Margao City Clean, Keep Goa Clean.
