VASCO: A second case of a person missing during Vasco Saptah fair came to light, on Sunday.
It is learnt that the police and a group of stall vendors have been searching for the 21-year-old youth since last four days.
Ajay Sharma, the missing youth, is a native of Birhaun Kanpur, and had come to the Saptah as a helper with Saddam Hussain who has been setting up a stall at Damodar Saptah fair every year.
On August 14 evening, Sharma had left the stall stating that he was going to use a toilet, but since then he is missing.
Saddam Hussain said that he and three others arrived from Uttar Pradesh and put up a stall of plastic fibre plates near Apna Bazaar during the Saptah fair.
Dispelling any suspicion that Sharma could have left him due to some dispute, Hussain said, “There were no fights or quarrels of any kind within the group. He was a good and obedient as a helper at our stall. He was not having a cell phone or money when he went missing.”
“Since August 14 we all searched for Ajay in entire Vasco and then we filed a missing complaint with Vasco police on August 15,” an assistant of Hussain said.
Hussain also informed that the group even checked the CCTV footage of Railway Station but he was not seen.
Hussain said that Sharma’s family has been informed of him gone missing and that the youth’s family is very worried. “Sharma’s parents are insisting that we enter the village only with the missing youth,” he said.
“We cannot go back to our village without him and we are running out of money,” Hussain said.
Hussain said that Sharma is his neighbour in his village and that the youth has completed 12th standard. “Ajay came with us to saptah fair after taking permission from his family,” he said.
Hussain has appealed to the general public to pass on any information that they may come across to the Vasco police.
