CHANDOR: Hosts Chandor Club blanked Curtorim Gymkhana 2-0 to enter into the final of the Chandor Seamen inter-village football tournament, organised by Chandor Club, at Chandor ground, on Sunday.
Curtorim Gymkhana’s goal scoring machine Milagres Fernandes should have scored but the latter’s shot was palmed away to safety by Chandor keeper Presley Mascarenhas in the third minute.
Three minutes later, Chandor’s Jeston Martin’s long range shot failed to pop up into Curtorim net. Later in the 14th minute, a set piece worked out by Moises D’Sa and Richard D’Sa of Chandor should have netted but Richard’s move was foiled by Curtorim’s Myson Fernandes.
In the next minute, Chandor’s Moses took a long range shot but Curtorim keeper Johnson Bhagot was alert enough to palm the ball away to safety.
In the second half, Chandor club netted through Darren Fernandes and Richard D’Sa in the 39th and 63rd minutes respectively.
Chandor Club will now meet the winner of SC Davorlim and St Anthony SC, Siolim in the final.
