CANACONA: In a shocking incident, Canacona police on Tuesday arrested a 37-year-old man from Haryana on charges of sexually assaulting his 13-year-old daughter for about one-and-half months.
Canacona Police Inspector Harischandra Madkaikar said the accused, who is presently residing with his family in Canacona, was booked by police after his wife lodged a complaint with the police.
Police further informed that the girl was sent for medical examination and later sent to Apna Ghar.
Sources informed that the girl’s mother observed the unusual behaviour of the girl towards her father for some time and was shocked to learn that her husband had sexually assualted their own daughter. The mother then reported the matter to the police.
Police informed that the accused initially denied the crime, but later confessed.
Sources said the couple’s elder daughter is in Haryana, while the victim girl and their two younger sons were earlier staying at a beach in Canacona taluka, before recently shifting their residence.
