BJP: Assures sub-way at railway crossing

MARGAO: Cuncolim MLA Rajan Naik on Tuesday assured Guirdolim villagers that he would vigorously pursue with the government for construction of a sub-way at the railway crossing to ease traffic congestion.
He was addressing women from Guirdolim at a function held to distribute orders for women beneficiaries of the government scheme at the Guirdolim Panchayat hall.
Naik said that the sub-way will be taken up for construction on a priority basis and sought cooperation from the villagers to realise the long-pending demand. The Cuncolim MLA said that people might say that development is taking place in the constituency at a slow place, but added he will not neglect any village or area and people from across the constituency will receive benefits of government schemes. “May be because of the mining issue, the government might have accorded priority in the mining belt, but the government would not neglect any area or other sections of the population,” he said.
In his address, Village Sarpanch Milagres de Chandor made a fervent plea for construction of the subway at the railway crossing to overcome the traffic problem. He exuded confidence that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will not say no to the proposed subway. “The process of finalising the plan for the subway is in the final stage. I am confident that the CM would solve this long-pending demand of Guirdolim villagers,” he added.
