OLD GOA: Hundreds of people on Friday evening bade a tearful farewell to Noreen Vaz and her mother-in-law, Aurita, who were brutally murdered on Monday night over a property issue.
People including family members, neighbours and others thronged the St Lourdes Church at St Cruz to attend the funeral service of Noreen and Aurita. Former St Cruz MLA Victor Gonsalves, Flaviano Lobo, environmentalist Claude Alvares, Special Olympics Goa President Victor Vaz and others attended the funeral.
St Lourdes Church Parish Priest Fr Alexandra Pereira was the main celebrant along with Fr Emedio Pinto, ex-parish priest of Merces Church, for the funeral mass.
Meanwhile, Edgar and Norman were not seen at the funeral service though it was reported that Edgar, Noreen’s husband, would attend the funeral to pay his last respect to his mother and wife.
