May 7 is the birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. There are many Ravindra Bhavans in Goa. I have visited such Bhavans at Curchorem, Fatorda, Baina periodically.
But none of these Bhavan have neither a bust statue, nor a portrait of the great philosopher-poet after whom such Bhavans are named.
I also have learned that the Sankhali Ravindra Bhavan is devoid of any picture of statue of Tagore. As a resident of Margao, I appeal to Ravindra Bhavam Margao’s Chairman and a poet himself, Damu Naik, to initiate proceedings for installing a bust statue or portrait of Tagore within the Bhavan. This will also be of help as Goa has no public statue of the great poet.
