MARGAO: A fine hat-trick by striker Trenny Dias enabled Cuncolim Union to drub Varca Sports Club 3-1 and cruise into the semi-finals of All-Goa St Sebastian Union Club inter-village football tournament organized by St Sebastian Union Club, at St John the Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Saturday. Cuncolim Union led 2-0 at the breather.
Cuncolim Union were a superior side as they tormented the rival defence with sharp raids. Trenny, who was a fulcrum in his teams attacks struck twice in the sixth and 13th minutes to give his team 2-0 cushion and also register his brace.
After the break, Cuncolim Union allowed their rivals to launched a barrage of attacks and Columban Noronha reduced the deficit.
Unfazed, Cuncolim Union put the issue beyond doubt when Trenny completed his hat-trick and drove the last nail into rival coffin, late in the second half.
