Govt HSS, Khandola, to get new premises in two years

PONDA: Government Higher Secondary School, Khandola, will have a new building in two years as the present premises are in dilapidated condition.

The decision was taken by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant who visited the old higher secondary building along with Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude, after parents and students complained about leakages from roof during monsoon which caused hardship to students.

Parents had also complained about the slow ongoing repair work of the higher secondary building. Arts, Commerce, Science and vocational education is provided at this HSS premises.

Later speaking to media, Sawant said that the government will provide a new building along with a play ground. The ongoing repair work on part of the Higher Secondary School (HSS) building was also inspected. Chief Minister directed the contractor to complete the repair work within next two months and thereafter start renovation work on another building. He also directed to upgrade the library and laboratory of the HSS. The Higher Secondary building would be renovated in two phases. The total cost of renovation work in two phases amounts to Rs 2 crore.
