MARGAO: El Shaddai Charitable Trust, a habitat for humanity, along with BITS-Pilani will organize the 2nd Goa marathon for men and women on March 3 from Mira Mar beach, Panjim.
The 21km run will run through the banks of Mandovi, proceeding to St Peter’s Church, Old Goa and culminate in Panjim.

On the same day, a 5km dream run will also be held in Panjim.
M. M. Ibrahim, chairman and CEO Quality Foods said that over 5000 drawn from corporate and defence personel are expected to participate.
Several celebrities are expected to grace the event.
Mathew Kurien of El Shaddai Charitable Trust, Goa, said the trust of the event is to seek funds to provide decent homes for children and families in need as well as to set up education centres for children in Goa and the Konkan region.
Rs 35,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 for first, second and third placed respectively for half marathon and Rs 10,000, Rs 5000 for the other event will be awarded.
Events: Half marathon 21km, age 18-45 years.
Half marathon masters 21km, 45plus. Dream run 5km, 12 years. Details may be obtained on www.goamarathon.org
