MARGAO: Trial of the sensational Margao bomb blast case has returned back to the South Goa Sessions court in Margao.
With the NIA notifying Judge PV Sawaikar as the designated Judge to try the case in the State, Friday saw the case being heard by South Goa Additional Sessions Judge Savaikar following his posting in the Sessions court, South.
The prosecution examined DySP Bossuet D’Silva, who was the investigation officer when the Goa police initially conducted investigations into the bomb blast case before it was handed over to the National Investigating Agency.
DySP D’Silva gave a detailed account of the investigations, including the SIM cards obtained by the two accused, as part of the conspiracy to carry out series of bomb blasts in the State on the eve of Diwali festival.
Special Public Prosecutor SB Faria said DySP D’Silva was partly examined on Friday and the examination will continue at the next date of hearing on June 26.
In his deposition, DySP D’Silva stated that he has raided the top floor of Sanatan Sanstha Ashram at Ramnathi, Ponda on June 22-23, 2009. During the search, he said the team found six old batteries, wires, a jar containing nuts and bolts, pen cell, which were later seized along with hard disk of computer, besides literature.
