Sena defectors backed BJP for its Hindutva ideology, says Maharashtra Speaker

Maharashtra Speaker Rahul Narvekar said that the Shiv Sena defectors extended support to BJP due to its Hindutva agenda for the State.

BICHOLIM: Maharashtra Speaker Rahul Narvekar said that the Shiv Sena defectors extended support to BJP due to its Hindutva agenda for the State.

Narvekar was speaking at the Hirabai Zantye Hall, Bicholim after his felicitation. Narvekar who was born in Narve, Bicholim has now been elected as the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker.

“Shiv Sena defectors gave a chance to the Hindu mindset government and fulfilled the dream of late Balasaheb Thackeray,” Narvekar stated.

Narvekar thanked Goans for all the love showered on him. “I am happy that I am felicitated in a village where several of my generations were born,” he said and assured that he would do his best to uphold the Constitution.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that Narvekar kept ties with Goan roots and also wished him all the best in his future endeavours.

BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavde said that Goans were very happy with Narvekar being elected as Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly.

He also thanked Narvekar for helping the BJP workers in Bicholim during the elections.

Former speaker Rajesh Patnekar, BMC Chairperson Kundan Falari, Bicholim Block President Vishwas Gaonkar, Mayem MLA Premendra Shet and Vallabh Salkar were also present.
