MARGAO: Holy Cross Institute, Quepem and AIM Salcete HS moved into the second round of 14th Mukund Trikkanad memorial under-16 cricket tournament organized by Margao Cricket Club (MCC) at Dr Rajendra Prasad Stadium, here, Friday.
In the first match, Holy Cross hammered defeated Vidhya Vikas Academy by eight wickets while AIM Salcete HS got the better of Shishu Vikas of Shantinagar, Rawonfond by four wickets.
Brief scores — Vidyha Vikas Academy: 53/10 in 14.5 overs (Atharv Samant 10 runs. Dhanraj Shetkar 6/15, Sankalp Phaldesai 2/9, Sagar Kudtarkar 1/15) lost to Holy Cross Institute: 54/2 (Mukund Katigiri not out 36 runs. Keny Gonsalves 1/19, Yeshwant Tuenkar 1/5).
Shishu Vikas HS: 125/10 in 19.5 overs (Maubulli Ballimbid 22, Avez Ahmed 50 runs. Asif Sayed 4/22, Barkat Ali 2/23, Yakub Belgaum 2/26, Wasim Belgaum one wicket) lost to AIM Salcete School: 126/6 in 19.3 overs (Barkat Ali 26, Wasim Belgaum 24, Asif Sayed 14 runs. Maubulli Ballimbid 3/23, Avez Ahmed, Sankalp Sawalkar and Karan Vaishnav one wicket each).
