MARGAO: Assumpta Convent High School, Sarzora overcome Fr Agnel Multipurpose High School, Verna 1-0 to march into the final of Salcete Taluka under-14 boys inter-school football tournament organized by DSYA, at Manora ground, Raia, on Friday.
In an evenly poised battle, both the teams played aggressive football, as a result there were few thrills at either ends.
The all-important goal was netted by Kindron Fernandes.
In another semi-final, Loyola High School, Margao blanked St Anthony High School, Majorda 2-0 after leading 1-0 at the lemon break.
Loyola held the upper hand in both the halves and surged ahead in the early moments of the game when Aroon Fernandes bulge the net.
After the break, Loyola continued to enjoy the better share of exchanges and pushed their opponents on the back foot. Wareen Pereira scored the insurance goal. Loyola will now meet Assumpta Convent in the final.
