PANJIM: Nauxim Sports Club thrashed Portais Sports Club 4-1 in the Goa Football Association Second Division League game organised by Goa Football Association played at Agassaim ground, on Tuesday.
Nauxim Sports Club started the game on an attacking note and attacked from the word go.
After much probing, Satish Kankonkar opened the scoring for the winners in the 14th minute with a fine finish in the back of the nets to give them an early lead.
Riding on their early lead, Nauxim SC dominated the play and Sagar Faterpekar then doubled their lead in the 33rd minute.
Just before half time, Portais pulled one down in the 44th minute courtesy of Arun Pareynkars shot to get back his team into the game.
Post resumption nothing seemed to have stopped the winners as they netted two goals in the 64th and 74th minute respectively through Sagar Faterpekar and Satish Kankonkar which completed their brace.
In a game held at Quitula ground, Dunes Sports Club beat Candolim Sports Club by a similar margin. Sylvester Dias’s hat-trick helped the winners take home all three points.
He scored in the 9th minute of the game itself while later added two quick goals in the 69th and 70th minute of the game.
Sashant Asulker added the other goal for the winners while an own goal by teammate Sandesh Sawant reduced the margin for the losers in the 86th minute.
