CALANGUTE: Zambleshwar Boys Gaura Vaddo Calangute defeated Calangute United 3-2 to emerge victorious at the 6th All-Goa Ashley Luis and Suhas Parsekar memorial 3-a-side tie-breaker tournament organised by Gaura Vaddo United, at Gaura Vaddo ground, Calangute, recently.
Cash prizes of Rs. 17,000 and Rs. 12, 000 were awarded to the winners and runners-up respectively along with trophies. The third place winners Trap “C” Anjuna and fourth place winners Gaura Vaddo United had to content with Rs 4,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively and throphies.
Tejas Shirodkar of Calangute United was adjudged as best shooter while Pratesh Matkar of Zambleshwar Boys was adjudged as the best goalkeeper and were awarded cash prize of Rs 1,000 each and trophies.
The organisers donated Rs 10,000 each to Zambleswar Temple Gaura Vaddo and St Anthony’s Chapel Gaura Vaddo, Calangute from the profits.
The chief guest Eddie Noronha, general secretary of Sporting Clube De Goa, guest of honour, Joseph Sequeira, acting sarpanch of village panchayat Calangute and other dignitaries gave away the prizes.
Also present for the tournament were Padma K. Nair, President Calangute Association, Valentino Euzeko, coach of CalanguteAssociation, Pratesh Shirodkar, player FC Goa, Nigel Lourenco, RTO Inspector, Rajan Korgaonkar, and Family Members of Late Ashley Luis and Late Suhas Parsekar.
