Car rams into 16 two-wheelers in City, one hurt

PANJIM: In a bizarre accident in the capital, a SUV rammed into 16 two-wheelers, which were parked near the KTC bus terminus, Tuesday afternoon, injuring one person seriously. The accident paralysed traffic at the critical junction for nearly one hour. 
According to Panjim police, the driver of Ford Endeavor GA-06-D-3769, who was proceeding from Porvorim to Panjim lost control while taking a turn near Kranti Circle and rammed into the parked two wheelers. 
The injured rider, Nagesh Hede, an employee of the Directorate of Accounts, was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical treatment. 
Nearly a dozen traffic personnel and local police staff were deployed at the spot to control the resulting traffic chaos. The damaged bikes were put onto a vehicle and shifted to the Panjim police station for investigation, after the panchnama. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act against the driver.
