CUNCOLIM: A family of four, including a six-month-old baby, from Karwar was crushed to death under the wheels of a Tata truck at Panzorconi in Cuncolim, on Saturday at around 6.30 am. A fifth occupant of the car was seriously injured.
The dead are identified as driver Sadam Mehboob Sahab Kailaigar, Kasim Adam Sayed (52), Shabina Wasim (28), six-month-old baby Ahira. The injured is identified as Rizwan Sayed.
According to information, Rizwan Sayed had come from Kuwait to attend his brother’s wedding and was proceeding to his home at Dandeli in Karwar. His father Kasim Sayed had come to Dabolim airport to pickup Rizwan. Rizwan’s cousin sister Shabina and her baby, residents of Baina Vasco, accompanied him on his journey.
When they reached Panzorconi, an oncoming Tata truck dashed their car smashing into pieces.
The Cunolim police arrested the truck driver Manjunath under Sections 279, 338 and 304A of IPC.
