PANJIM: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday announced four new road projects amounting to Rs 1,200 crore for Goa.

These include construction of 6.5-km four-laning with paved shoulder road from Navelim to Cuncolim worth Rs 268 crore for which 24 hectare land will be used; Rs 167 crore worth eight-km four-laning road from end of Canacona bypass to Polem, which is part of Goa-Karnataka border section; Rs 190 crore worth six-km four-laning road from Sanjivani sugar factory to Khandepar section and Rs 565 crore worth 9.80-km four-laning road from Ponda to Bhoma section.
All these roads will be built on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode.
Gadkari said that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) had sanctioned road projects worth over Rs 25,000 crore for Goa. Some of these works have been completed while others are in various stages of completion.
