PANJIM: Don Bosco High School, Panjim will represent Goa in 3rd Mahindra Youth Football Challenge (MYFC) inter-State championships which will kick-off next week in Bangalore.
Greenwood International, Bangalore; Don Bosco High School, Mumbai; DPS Vasant Kunj, New Delhi; Ashoknagar Bidyasagar Banibhavan, Kolkata and St Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Kerala are the other teams.
Before the tournament gets underway, the six champion teams from across the country will undergo a training session with coaches from Celtic Football Club from April 13 to 16 at Bangalore Football Stadium from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Coaches from Celtic are Mark Tobin, centre of excellence coach; Tom McKay, academy goalkeeping coach; Michael McIlroy, grassroots coach and Greig Robertson, international academy development officer, youth academy coach.
The intense sessions will help players understand the game better and improve their individual game, besides this the camp would include training in ball control, skill development, physical endurance and game strategy.
