Investment Board clears 6 proposals

PANJIM: The Goa Investment Promotion Board headed by the Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar at its meeting held Monday cleared 6 proposals for allotment of plots to industries.

PANJIM: The Goa Investment Promotion Board headed by the Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar at its meeting held Monday cleared 6 proposals for allotment of plots to industries. They included Ion Exchange (India) at Verna where the scrutiny committee’s recommendation of a plot of 7000 sq mts was considered for allotment. The company had initially asked for a plot of 15,000 sq mts.
The other companies include Venkat Rao Infra Projets Pvt Ltd, which intended to manufacture RMC for their own projects as well as for the market and had asked for 10,000 sq mts. For this company 8,000 sq mts was ratified. 
Another company Indoco Remedies wanted 30,000 sq mts to set up its own warehouse. The committee recommendation of 20,000 was accepted. For Duco Luxe India Ltd, a 25,000 sq mt plot at the Kundaim Industrial Estate was cleared, while for Mabpharm, a 15,000 sq mt plot was cleared.     
The government had set up the Investment Promotion Board as the nodal authority for investments in Goa which meet any or all of the below criteria: Investment upwards of Rs 5 crore; Area requirement equal to or above 3000 sq mts; Classified under the Red or Orange category as per Goa State Pollution Control Board guidelines. 
Investments of less than or equal to Rs 5 crore and not meeting any of the above criteria can approach a dedicated sub-committee headed by the concern minister in charge to be set up within the Investment Promotion Board that will serve as a facilitator for investments of value less than or equal to Rs 5 crore.
The Board is a fully empowered statutory entity, headed by a full-time CEO and supported by a dedicated team.  
The Board will provide and facilitate approvals from the Government of Goa and its entities. It is to also provide assistance in obtaining clearances from the Central Government or its entities.
