VASCO: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 9th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo hosted in Goa from December 8 to 11.
Informing mediapersons, Union Minister of State for Ports & Shipping Shripad Naik on Tuesday said that during his Goa visit, Modi is also likely to inaugurate the Mopa Airport, All India Institute of Ayurveda and AYUSH Hospital and part of the new four-lane Zuari Bridge.

Naik said that the World Ayurveda Congress is a biannual event and that the date for the inauguration of the new Mopa airport is yet to be finalised. He said that the work of the All India Institute of Ayurveda housing two colleges, a research centre and a 150-bedded AYUSH hospital with Out-Patient Department (OPD) at Dhargalim is completed and will be inaugurated by Modi during his Goa visit.
Naik, who also holds the tourism portfolio, said that projects like ropeway and making Mormugao a port of call were in the discussion stage to make Goa a world class tourist destination. He said that the cruise tourism is extremely important for the touristic State and the Union Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned funds to boost tourism activities while the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) is also trying at its level to ensure that Goa becomes a port of call.
