BICHOLIM: A senior citizen Gurudas Rama Mandrekar from Manaswada Mulgao, got drowned in a river at Manaswada, Mulgao-Bicholim on Tuesday. The body was later retrieved by Bicholim fire brigade personnel.
According to Bicholim police, Mandrekar had reportedly gone missing since Tuesday evening. When some locals saw some clothes near river bank they suspected a case of drowning. They immediately informed Bicholim police who intimated Bicholim fire brigade officials.
On receiving information, around 19 firemen from Bicholim and Ponda under the guidance of SFO Shripad Gawas rushed to the spot and retrieved the body.
