VASCO: The Legal Metrology Department raided Gemini Distilleries Pvt Ltd at IDC Sancoale and seized Bols Brandy bottles that contained less alcohol than the mentioned amount.
The Legal Metrology, Vasco, raided the distillery to determine the error in the alcohol quantity. They tested the net content and found that the statistical average of the quantity in the bottles was less than the declared quantity. Each bottle contained 726 ml, which was 24 ml less than the declared quantity of 750 ml.
Around 600 bottles, each worth Rs 600, were seized. The officials kept 32 bottles, while 568 bottles were left with the distillery with the direction not to sell/distribute them until permitted by the Dept.
