PONDA: Former BJP MLA and industries minister Mahadev Naik was officially admitted into Congress party in the presence of Goa in-charge Chellakumar, GPCC President Girish Chodankar, former MP Francisco Sardinha, MLAs Babu Kavlekar, Ravi Naik, Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, Digambar Kamath and office bearers and local party workers.
On the occasion, the party leaders appealed to the workers to work hard and elect whoever the party selects as the candidate for Shiroda constituency.
On the occasion, Mahadev Naik who is likely to get the Congress Party ticket, said that the BJP always hatched conspiracy and tried to finish off the Bahujan Samaj and its leaders, including himself.
He alleged that BJP President Vinay Tendulkar gave ticket to Bahujan leader Ganesh Gaonkar in Savordem but worked against him.
“Now as I have made Garwapsi, I would never leave the Congress Party in my life. BJP has done great injustice to me and ill-treated me. When I lost last election I did not get appointment of top leaders, but Subash got fifty appointments with BJP leaders. To add to this they rubbed salt on my wounds. On my birthday, the BJP acquired land of Subash for Rs 70 crore,” he said.
