The cattle menace in the coastal villages of Benaulim and Varca is getting worse by the day. Farmers abandon their old cows and buffaloes on the roads either due to financial hardship or because the bovines are old and incapable of producing milk.
The cattle roam about or sit on the roads holding up traffic, causing accidents or even chasing down people. I request the panchayat authorities to either send them to cattle pounds or sell them to abattoirs and end this nuisance.
