PANJIM: The Bharatiya Janata party on Saturday released the second list of candidates for the forthcoming Zilla Panchayat elections to be held in the State on March 22.
Earlier this week,the BJP had released names 18 candidates in their first list.
Announcing the list of candidates, BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade said that the remaining list of candidates would be announced in next two days.
The names of the candidates announced are: North Goa — Karthik Sajo Kudnekar (Socorro), Rupesh Naik (Reis Magos), Savanna Maria Araujo (Santa Cruz), Anjali Gajanan Naik (Taleigao), Girish Uskaikar (Chimbel), Dhaku Madkaikar (St Lawrence).
South Goa — Sanjana Sudesh Naik (Curti-Khandepar), Deepak Naik Borkar (Borim), Narayan Nanda Kamat (Shiroda), Suvanna Subodh Prabhu Tendulkar (Sanvordem), Sudha Govind Gaonkar (Dharbandora), Siddharth Srinivas Gaons Desai (Xeldem).
Speaking further, the BJP President said the remaining list has already been finalised but certain issues have to be sorted which will be done in couple of days.
Asked about the Congress and MGP heading towards an alliance for elections, Tanavde said, “There is nothing new in it.”
“Most of the opposition parties came together during the bypolls as well as Lok Sabha elections it did not make any difference to the BJP,” he said.
He continued that the BJP will again get majority on its own.
“I cannot count the number but I am sure that the BJP will gain the majority,” he said.
Asked about the spat between Vinay Tendulkar and Subhash Phal Desai, Tanavade said it was an internal matter which has been sorted.
“I cannot reveal anything more as this is party’s internal matter,” he said.
