PANJIM: St Sebastian Union Club, Benaulim recorded a 2-1 win over St Anthony Sports Club Colva in the GFA Third Division league (Salcete) played at Dando ground, Benaulim, on Thursday.
All the three goals were scored in the second session. In the first half, St Anthony started brightly with Rosario Coutinho and Baptist Fernandes connecting well. The duo orchestrated the play for the Colva side. Denzil Coutinho and Malik Torgal had couple of chances in the first session but St Sebastian UC did well to thwart any danger. At the other end, St Sebastian Union Club’s Alex Colaco supplied regularly to the men upfront and Savil and Declan defended well.
In the second half, St Sebastian Union finally broke the deadlock in the 69th minute through Savil D’Souza and then doubled the account in the 77th minute through Alex Colaco. St Sebastian UC put up a better performance in the second half.
Baptist Fernandes managed to reduce the margin for the losing side.
