PANJIM: The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) has ordered sealing of a Hotel located at Morjim for violations and for causing major environmental damage.
The GCZMA in its 310th meeting held on June 17, 2022 passed the order directing the Deputy Collector and Mamlatdar and Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Pernem to immediately seal the hotel property situated in survey number 127/2 at Vithaldaswada, Morjim within 48 hours and to submit compliance report to the Authority.

Following a complaint by Sagardeep Sirsaikar against the hotel, the Pernem mamlatdar had submitted the report dated August 6, 2020 regarding illegal structure on an area admeasuring 2899 square metres used for commercial purpose at Morjim.
The order issued by GCZMA has stated that the premises be immediately sealed within 48 hours, But till date the hotel was not sealed, the complainant said.
