Ensure regular patrolling at beaches

In a move that will bring cheer to shack holders, the Environment and Forestry ministry has notified that temporary structures on beaches need not be removed during the monsoon season. Every year shack holders had to dismantle their shacks and rebuild them after the rains, thus incurring heavy expenditure.
Undoubtedly, these structures will have to be covered with plastic sheets to protect the fixtures from the vagaries of the weather. It is very likely that these dark structures will become a haven for drug addicts and other anti-social activities. Regular patrolling of beaches by police will be necessary to check such activities.
