Adv. Amit Palekar has demanded the immediate closure of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) shed at Chimbel, alleging that the facility has been operating illegally for years without the required permission.
Palekar’s remarks followed an inspection by the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB). He alleged that the MRF shed was never granted permission to operate and urged the local panchayat to find an immediate solution to the issue.

Palekar also said the process of filing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) is underway. He maintained that people would remain united on the issue irrespective of their political affiliations
