PANJIM: Amidst the fake news circulating about the postponement of the reopening of schools, the Directorate of Education has confirmed that schools in Goa will reopen after the summer vacation as per schedule on June 6 for the new academic year 2019-20.
The parents and students were looking for postponement of the reopening of schools as there is delay in the onset of South West monsoon over Goa coast. Soaring mercury, which has touched 33 Degree Celsius, is expected to cause hardship for the students.
Director Education Nagaraj Honnekeri confirmed that the schools will reopen as per schedule on June 6.
He said that department has not received any request for rescheduling the date from school managements or Parent-Teachers Associations.
The reopening of schools has always been in sync with monsoons. In the past, government has postponed school reopening dates in case of delayed rains.
