Histroy-sheeter Anwar nabbed after a chase

MARGAO: Margao town police arrested Anwar Shaikh alias “Tiger” following yet another complaint lodged against him of threatening one Kadar Basa, a resident of Gogol.

MARGAO: Margao town police arrested Anwar Shaikh alias “Tiger” following yet another complaint lodged against him of threatening one Kadar Basa, a resident of Gogol.
Anwar was detained along with his friend following a chase by the police.
As per the complaint, Anwar along with his girlfriend Dharshana Yadav threatened Kadar to transfer the ownership of his vehicle Hyundai i20  to Anwar, failing which Kadar would be thrashed or would be implicated in a false complaint of molestation or rape. Accordingly the police have booked a case under Section 387 and 389 r/w section 34 of the IPC against both the accused.
It may be recalled that Margao town police had registered two other complaints against Anwar.
While on March 5 a case was registered under Section 323 and 506 of the IPC following a complaint by one Robin. On March 6 another case was registered against him under section 324, 341, 504 and 506 (II) of the IPC as he assaulted one Tyson Prudencia with a koita and cut both his palms.
Police was tipped off that Anwar was at Chandrawada as they were going to nab him he crossed their vehicle at Ambaji junction and thus a chase followed. At Multipurpose school when police tried to stop the vehicle in which Anwar was travelling he dashed into the police Balero jeep damaging it.
The police succeeded in stopping the vehicle and detained Anwar and Chitambar Chonekar who was driving the Fortuner vehicle in which the two were travelling.
Following disclosure by Anwar, police also picked up Dharshana from Chandrawada and both are presently in police custody.
Meanwhile, PI Kapil Nayak has lodged a police complaint at the Fatorda police station under Section 353 of the IPC against Chitambar for obstructing a government servant from discharging his lawful duties.
