JMFC Margao Extends Police Remand of Four Accused in Extortion Case

The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Margao, has extended the police remand of Walter Fernandes and three others by three days. The four were arrested for allegedly attempting to extort money from a real estate businessman.

Police had sought an extension of custody to continue their investigation into the alleged extortion plot, including verifying communications, financial transactions, and possible links to others involved. The court granted the request, keeping the accused in police custody for further interrogation.
