PERNEM: Pernem taluka on Wednesday recorded 46 new cases taking the case tally to 230.

The detection of new cases has caused fear among the taluka residents who now fear that the infection may spread even further.
Pernem Deputy Collector Ravishankar Nipanikar said, “The COVID Centre at Sawalwada Indoor Stadium will be made operational in the next four days and work in this regard is going on a war-footing.”
He said Pernem taluka detected 46 COVID cases on Wednesday.
12 cases were reported in Nagzar Tulaskarwadi, 9 in Corgao, 4 in Morjim, 3 in Casarwane, 2 in Pernem town, 6 in Arambol, 4 in Hasapur and 1 each in Naibagh, Parsem, Mandrem, Dhargal, Tuem and Torxem respectively.
Meanwhile, 18 new cases were detected under Mapusa Urban Health Centre jurisdiction, 3 under Aldona Primary Health Centre, 3 under Siolim Primary Health Centre and 5 under Colvale Primary Health Centre.
