PANJIM: The Imagine Panjim Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) on Wednesday approved proposals to make two city roads as smart roads and to undertake the work of rejuvenating the St Inez creek.
The board of directors meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Parimal Rai also decided to construct two overhead water reservoirs to provide water 24×7 for Panjim city and to build a footbridge at Patto-Panaji.

According to information available, the road from the foot of Old Patto bridge up to Four Pillars junction and the road from St Inez junction (near Vivanta By Taj) up to the Adarsh Colony junction, Miramar will be made Smart roads by developing ducts on either side of these roads and no road diggings will be permitted. The cost of both the4se Smart roads is estimated at Rs 100 crore.
The rejuvenation of the St Inez creek will be carried out by the water resources department (WRD) at an estimated cost of Rs 160 crore while, the PWD (water supply) ensured to provide water supply 24×7 for the capital city by constructing two overhead water tanks.
The meeting also approved a proposal to construct a pedestrian bridge linking Central library and Mala creek at Patto-Panjim at an estimated cost of Rs five crore. Most of these works will be executed through the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) and the PWD.
Besides Rai, the meeting was attended by Panjim MLA Atanasio `Babush’ Monserrate, Secretary (Finance) Puneet Kumar Goel, Secretary (urban development) Tariq Thomas, North Goa collector Ajit Roy, CCP Mayor Rohit Monserrate, CCP commissioner Agnelo Rodrigues, PWD principal chief engineer Uttam Parsekar, director of urban development Gurudas Pilarnekar and IPSCDL chief executive officer Ravi Dhawan.
