PERNEM: Deputy Chief Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar and PWD Minister Deepak Pawaskar on Thursday assured the people of Porascadem-Pernem that the 500 years old Shri Mauli Temple will not be demolished while widening of National Highway 17.
During a meeting held at the Secretariat, people of Pernem put forth the demand to Ajgaonkar, Pawaskar and National Highway Officer to protect their temple located at Porascadem and few houses, which were going in for demolition, while widening of National Highway 17.
After giving a patient hearing, the deputy chief minister and Pawaskar expressed their strong support to save the temple and houses located in the area.
It was also decided that Dy CM along with other officials would inspect the ancient temple site, on Friday.
