SOPO Notification Delayed Over Weekend, Traditional Goan Vendors to Be Exempted

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant clarified that the government’s notification on the collection of SOPO (market fees) has been delayed due to the weekend. He assured that once issued, the notification will clearly exempt traditional Goan vendors from paying the levy.

Sawant emphasized that the government remains committed to safeguarding the interests of local vendors engaged in traditional occupations and clarified that their livelihoods would not be affected by the revised SOPO rules.
