According to police, the inmates jumped the wall and escaped taking advantage of it being a Sunday when the staff strength is less.
Apna Ghar officials made a formal complaint at Old Goa Police Station the same day but the boys are yet to be located. Old Goa PI Krishna Sinari said the police team is on the job to trace the inmates.
Sources in Apna Ghar said that all five inmates were lodged in the protective home after being found to be involved in various petty crimes.
