Tata offers SMS payment service

Tata Teleservices today announced the launch of pre-paid top-up and post-paid bill payment services via SMS.
Tata Tele has entered into a partnership with mChek to enable this unique service in the Indian telecom space, a company statement said. The payment can be made using a Visa or Mastercard credit card issued by any bank in India.
To avail service, subscribers have to send an SMS from their Tata Indicom mobile phone. They will then receive an automated call back on the phone to register their credit card number and approval of the transaction, the statement added.
