MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council continued with its drive against business establishments operating without paying taxes and shopkeepers keeping their wares on the footpaths creating hindrance to the people.
Continuing with the drive against business establishment around Arlem junction area, a team led by Chief Officer Siddhivinayak Naik sealed three shops including the Volkswagon showroom and issued notices to two business establishments including the KTM showroom of the Bajaj company.
A finance company Jana Small Finance Bank that was operating without the necessary documents voluntarily closed down their office after the council team visited their premises.
Meanwhile council staff lifted material like aluminium ladders, plastic chairs and various other things that were kept outside the shops by the shopkeepers blocking access to the people either on the footpath or the passage of the building.
