MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes on Sunday stated that he has pledged to reach out to Margao locals in times of the flooding crisis.
Due to persistent rain, low-lying areas within Margao Municipal Council jurisdiction tend to flood, keeping in view of this, the CO has kept ready 10 vehicles with mechanics as well to tow any vehicles submerged in water.
It must be noted that the workaholic Chief Officer has been active throughout the COVID-19 pandemic time to assist the locals in every possible manner to ensure the MMC delivers uninterrupted services to “Madgoankars”.
He has also given a call to “Madgoankars” who can help those in distress along with food provision if any.
“We have kept open options over the weekend for the “Madgoankars” to reach out to him in their times of distress. Ready to volunteer to help the needy free of cost in case of any eventuality,” he stated.
Earlier, during COVID-19 times, the CO had tied up with El Shaddha and Rotary Club Margao to provide two times meals a day to the stranded people over 200 per day.
