The landslides had occurred on the new National Highway 66 on June 22, this year, and the retaining wall along the road was also damaged.
Since then the highway closed and the traffic was diverted on the Old
Highway.
Also four occupants, all tourists travelling in a car had a narrow escape when a boulder bounced over the vehicle, and another boulder fell in front the vehicle, following landslide.
It was informed that it will take another three months to clear the landslide debris and also the hill side further.
The highway was built by MVR Infra Projects Private Limited.
Also on June 22, another minor landslide was reported at Mahakhazan, Dhargalim when a boulder broke loose from the cut mountain side and settled precariously on the
retaining wall.
