PANJIM: BSNL defeated Geno SC by 3 wickets, on the third day of the 3rd Late Babu Naik All India Tournament played at Agonda, on Thursday.
Winning the toss and batting first Geno were all out on 247 in 38.5 overs.
Achit Shigwan (73), Amit Yadav (55), Harshad Gadekar (25) and Snehal Kavthankar 26 batted well for Geno.
N S Negi 4-34 was the pick of the bowlers with Kuldeep Diwan 2-60, Noel Rana 1-37, Joginder Singh1-12, Kamlesh makhwana 1-59 bowling well.
In reply BSNL chased down 250/7 in 40 overs with Anshul kapoor 74, Amit patil 62* and NS Negi 30 batting well.
For Geno Amit Yadav 2-32, Lakshay Garg 2-46, Harshad Gadekar, Mahesh Patil and Dhiraj Yadav picked up wicket each.
In another match at Fatorda ground, Dempo C. C. defeated DTDC by 8 wickets.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first DTDC were bundled out for 124 in 34.5 overs by disciplined Dempo attack.
Sumeet Sharma (49) and Yogesh Pujari (47*) were the only run getters for DTDC. Darshan Misal (3-39) was the pick of the bowlers with the support of Akshay Garekar (2-17), Subodh Bhatti (2-13).
In reply Dempo scored the winning runs in 9.5 overs with Goan superstar Sagun Kamat scoring quick 71 with Kashyap Bakhale (44) giving 116 runs stand for the first wicket. Vishwadeep and Sumit took a wicket each for DTDC.
Elsewhere in Sanguem, Chowgule C. C. defeated Deniel C. C. by 349 runs.
