PANJIM: The recently submitted closure report in the custodial death of NRI Cipriano Fernandes had a senior forensic doctor being quizzed nearly eight times, owing to two different medical reports on the death.
Sources said the doctor, in an initial medical opinion did not suspect any foul but a subsequent medical examination pointed out two fatal head injuries resulting in the death. “The two different medical versions forced the crime branch inquiry team to examine and cross-examine the forensic doctor at least eight times for clarity. Others related to the case were also questioned,” an officer said.
