Ponda locals to have own carnival parade

PONDA: The Ponda locals are upset with the government for not releasing funds to celebrate the annual traditional Carnival Festival in the town this year. 

It may be recalled that the government had decided to celebrate annual Carnival float parades at nine places across the State. However, despite Ponda being one of major towns, the funds are yet to be released, which has surprised the locals.

The Ponda residents under the banner of Ponda Carnival Committee has decided to hold the carnival parade on February  23 on its own with the encouragement from carnival lovers in Ponda and support of  the local MLA Ravi Naik.
